Dear Friends and Family,
Many people have asked what they can do to help
Carson in his quest for a cure.....We are doing all we
can to make this cure a reality!!! Carson met with
our Idaho delegation this past summer in
Washington, DC as the JDRF Children’s Congress
delegate for the state of Idaho to advocate for
critical funding for T1D research!! He is taking his two
year term VERY seriously. Last week, Carson was invited to our state capitol in Boise where he showcased his three diabetic inventions to state senators and representatives. One of our US Senators flew in from DC to see Carson and Carson met with our other US Senator, as well. Carson’s second meeting with our US Representative this September in our hometown culminated with the Representative signing on to a $150 million bill for T1D research, which he had never done before. Last week, this US Representative came and personally met Carson at the capitol! Carson even had a surprise invitation from the Governor to meet with him in his office. Carson has raised over $10,000 since his diagnosis 3.5 years ago! And some of you have contributed to this amount! Thank you!! Now we are asking for your help once again!
For the third year, Carson has entered "Our Everyday Heroes" Race Car Design Contest for JDRF. One lucky kid living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) will win a once-in-a-lifetime experience to travel and see his or her design featured on the Motorcraft and Quick Lane Racing Ford Shelby Mustang Funny Car driven by JDRF friend Bob Tasca lll at the Mile High NHR Nationals at Bandimere Speedway in Denver, Colorado on July 18-20, 2014. NOW through APRIL 25!!!! To get in the Top 10, Carson needs
approximately $6000 between now and APRIL 25! It is a daunting task,
but with your help, we can do this!!!!! Your tax deductible donation will
be credited to Carson's JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes team,Carson's
Cruisers, raising critical funds for T1D research. The past two years
Carson has raised enough money to get into the TOP 10 and our local
FORD dealership has then helped us raise even MORE money in our
community and Carson clowns and passes out noses at the dealership to
raise awareness about T1D! Won't you consider helping?
